Carecubes Appoints Healthcare Policy Leader Joe Grogan to its Board of Directors
Former White House Domestic Policy Council Director brings decades of infection-control expertise
Arlington, Virginia – April 10, 2026 – Carecubes, a healthcare solutions company dedicated to eliminating infectious disease transmission in healthcare settings, has announced the addition of Joe Grogan, JD, MBA, to its Board of Directors. Grogan brings more than two decades of senior leadership across the White House, federal agencies, global pharmaceutical companies and international policy organizations.
Grogan has served in multiple presidential administrations, including Assistant to President Donald J. Trump and Director of the Domestic Policy Council, where he served as the President’s lead advisor on a variety of domestic policy issues relating to healthcare, regulatory and deregulatory initiatives, economic expansion, environment, agriculture and education.
His public-sector experience includes senior roles at the Office of Management and Budget, the Food and Drug Administration and the President’s Advisory Council on HIV and AIDS. Grogan also played a key role on the White House COVID-19 Task Force during the earliest months of the pandemic. In the private sector, he led Gilead Sciences’ Washington, D.C. office during the launch of the Sovaldi.
Grogan was drawn to Carecubes for its innovation and multi-faceted approach to protecting doctors and patients.
“In mundane, everyday hospital activities, there are a tremendous number of hospital‑acquired infections that are unnecessary but incredibly difficult to avoid,” said Grogan. “Carecubes has a role to play on both sides of the coin, helping reduce routine infections and supporting response in higher‑risk situations, including military, emergency and international medical applications.”
He hopes to see Carecubes become a central part of every hospital administration’s discussions around infection control and emergency planning.
“I’d like to see Carecubes become widely understood as an option, talked about the same way administrators and medical teams discuss any other essential technology or supply they rely on to keep patients healthy.”
“Grogan’s entire career has centered on infection control, outbreak preparedness and the policies that determine how healthcare systems respond to emerging threats,” said Alex Laskey, founder and CEO of Carecubes. “His experience navigating both the operational realities of hospitals and the regulatory complexities of government will be invaluable as Carecubes prepares to enter its next phase of growth and expansion.”
“Innovations like Carecubes are how America makes the world a better place,” said Grogan. “Their solutions have the potential to fundamentally improve hospitals’ most pressing challenges and make sure we are prepared before we face another pandemic or epidemic.”

About Carecubes
Carecubes is a healthcare solutions company dedicated to eliminating infectious disease transmission in healthcare settings. The Carecube ISTARI is an FDA 510(k)-approved isolation unit built for rapid deployment wherever care is needed. It flips the traditional model of infection control: instead of patients waiting alone behind closed doors, separated from loved ones, and receiving less frequent visits from doctors and nurses due to PPE constraints, the Carecube isolates the pathogen—allowing for exceptional, safe, and compassionate care in any setting.
The Carecube was designed and built in close partnership with the University of Nebraska’s Global Center for Health Security and the world’s leading infectious disease doctors. Its development was funded in part by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and further supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), and it has been granted permanent 510(k) authorization from the FDA.
