Mark Vazquez joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2021. In his current role as Program Manager, he works with innovation development, training, process improvement and regional, national and international response programs. Mark has supported multiple health security initiatives, including the Region VII Disaster Health Ecosystem and the National Infection Control Strengthening for Small and Rural Hospitals.
Previously, he served 30 years in the U.S. Air Force at the unit, major command, and headquarters levels. Throughout his career, Mark has performed a wide range of roles, including project manager, medical/surgical career field manager, executive director (command chief), drug demand reduction administrator, personnel reliability program manager and independent duty medical technician.
In his leisure time, Mark enjoys fly fishing, kayaking, and camping, preferably in places with zero PPE requirements.
